Eeep! It arrived! Okay, so it actually arrived last week, and I’ve been itching to post about it ever since. I figured since I shared the April box a little late, it would be okay if the May post was a little late too. If you missed it, I got my first ever Fandom of the Month Club box last month, and it was amazing! Just to recap, Fandom of the Month Club is this amazing monthly subscription box where you get 3-4 fandom inspired pieces of jewellery every month. What? You wanna sign up already? I know right? Being a bit of geek and loving so many different movies, tv shows and books, this is the perfect subscription box for me. After seeing some of the previous months (and watching many unboxing videos on YouTube), I knew I had to sign up. Previously they’d done Doctor Who, Divergent, Narnia, and Star Wars and hellooo, I love all those things.

April’s box was Harry Potter, and I adored it! It was so amazing! Being here in NZ means that I get to see what the Fandom is before it actually arrives on my doorstep, thanks to Instagram. I’m not diligent enough to not look when I know that it’s been dispatched. So while I knew exactly what was in the box, it was still so exciting when it finally came. It was a few days late because it was Queen’s Birthday long weekend here, so I didn’t get it until the Tuesday, while it probably would have come on Friday or Monday otherwise. All good though, and it was totally worth the wait! Here’s what the May theme was…

The Lord of the Rings! Eeep! A lot of people on Instagram and online have been saying it’s The Hobbit, but it’s definitely more LOTR, looking at all the things inside. Here’s what it included…

Information Card

Each box comes with this great card, and this month has a picture of the Eye of Sauron on it. On the back it has the Fandom of the Month details and where to find them etc etc.

Knick Knack Bag

This is something that you get every month, with a screen printed themed quote. These are made by Sand Sink and the bags are so sweet and handy! This one is of the door at the entrance to the Mines of Moria, from The Fellowship of the Ring, and guys…it.glows.in.the.dark! What! I know!

One Ring Bangle

This is such an awesome idea! I love that it has the Black Speech (though using Elvish letters) around the edge. My only issue with this is the size of it. I have quite small wrists and it was a bit of struggle getting it on. Once it was on, however, it was fine. Just a moment of pain, and then all good! Unsure who made this one, sorry. If anyone knows, please do comment!

White Tree of Gondor Earrings

(Turns out this photo is slightly blurry. Sorry!) These are so neat! They’re just over 1cm across, and I love how they are subtely LOTR. They could just be white trees…but we all know better, don’t we?

Hobbit Hole Door Necklace

Much like last month’s Harry Potter box, the necklace is my favourite thing in this month’s box. It’s the sweeted little Hobbit Hole door and guys…it opens! So awesome!! While I tend to wear silver or bronze more than gold, I love this so much I don’t even care! I’ve worn it a lot this past week already. Yay! So cool!

Pricing

The price of the box is only $13USD. Crazy, right? Especially since the pieces in it are over $30 combined. So in that sense, it’s super cheap, but the products are of a great quality, so you’re definitely getting a good deal.

Shipping

If you live in the USA, shipping starts at just $2. If you live overseas, shipping starts at $6.50. Being in New Zealand means it was about $8 shipping, which is actually so good. It means for one month it’s about $21USD (approx $28 NZD), and for a package that’s worth over $30 USD (approx. $40 NZD) I think that’s a great deal. They ship the boxes between the 20th and 25th of each month, and it only took about a week to get here. Another great thing!

Options

Like a lot of subscription boxes, you can either buy it month by month, or you can purchase a 3 month subscription, a 6 month, or a 12 month one. Because I knew I was going to love it, I bought a 3 month subscription right from day one. After your month/s end, it will automatically renew, so be aware of this if you’re thinking about signing up. This was my month 2, so I have another one before it automatically renews (and I’m totally going to let it!)

What about you? Signed up for Fandom of the Month Club?!
