It’s been just over 4 years since the first Book Haul … and here we are, at number 52.
It’s a tad concerning that out of those titles in Book Haul #1, I’ve only read 5 out of 15. Eek.
I don’t know whether to be shocked at that number, or rather pleased that I have a small library at age 27. (To be honest, it’s definitely the latter.) The books in this collection are a mixture of cheap books that I’ve unearthed from teetering piles in sale bins, to full price books that I’m a little ashamed I’ve bought (I try not to buy full price books) because I couldn’t quite resist them.
The Diabolic, and The Empress, by S.J. Kincaid
I actually bought these two books at separate times during the past month, but both for below retail price (all about those cheap books, people!). Looking at Goodreads, people either hate or love these books; I’m excited to pick them up and see for myself.
Dividing Eden, by Joelle Charbonneau
Ever since this book came out, I’ve been wanting to read it. I managed to pick this up in a ‘Buy one get one half price” sale if I recall correctly. Also, how great is that cover?!
The Cruel Prince, by Holly Black
I’ve only heard rave reviews about this book and it was on my Christmas Book Wish List. While I didn’t get it for Christmas, but I did buy it for myself over the break.
The Hazel Wood, by Melissa Albert
This book is all I’ve heard about lately online. This was one that I bought with a voucher recently, and I can’t wait to pick it up; it sounds so good!
Between the Blade and the Heart, by Amanda Hocking
I first knew about Amanda Hocking when I lived in England and picked up Switched from the library. I remember enjoying it a lot at the time, but haven’t really read anything since then. Looking forward to diving into another fantasy world created by Hocking.
Dreams of Gods and Monsters, by Laini Taylor
So back in that first Book Haul post I mentioned I had just bought the second in this series, and it’s one of the books in that haul that I haven’t picked up yet. And here we are, buying book three in this series when I’ve only read the first one, Daughter of Smoke and Bone. And now all my copies are from different publishers and look completely different. Serves me right. However! After reading Strange the Dreamer last year, I remember how much I love Taylor’s characters, worlds and story lines. Really must pick up at least the second in this series this year.
Rebel of the Sands, by Alwyn Hamilton
I’ve actually already read this book, but I really enjoyed it so thought it would be great addition to my library. Also, it was only NZD$2.97 … so you can’t not buy it at that price, amiright?
I still have a few vouchers to spend, so there will be another book haul coming your way next month too, I’m sure!
What about you? Bought any books recently?
