Hello 2018, then just like that, goodbye January.
While most months I would start a post like this with something along the lines of ‘oh my goodness, can you believe it’s the end of [insert month here] already?” But this month I feel like it’s been a good pace. Which is, perhaps, odd, as I have crammed a lot into the past few 31 days.
The first week of January saw me down the island in Wellington, where I flew to Christchurch, picked up a car and drove to Dunedin, then back to Christchurch, back to Wellington, up to Palmerston North, over to Havelock North, back to Palmy, and finally returning to Auckland with still a week’s worth of annual leave left. Busy busy busy. But also a fantastic break.
In the coming weeks I’ll be sharing my Te Waipounamu (South Island) adventures, but for now let’s look back on the blog together and see if you missed anything!
“When Christmas and your birthday happen within a month, there’s gonna be a book haul. This past Christmas, all the presents I got from family and friends were all Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings themed. I kid you not. All of them. They know me so well. In among the geek were books, great books. They were all on my Christmas Wish List, so I’m super thankful and grateful for people who take that on board when picking out gifts for me. Haha.” – Read more!

Song of the Month
This month’s song was so easy to pick. A few weeks back now Dan + Shay released their latest single, and needless to say I’ve had it on repeat quite a bit since. Can’t wait for another album from this country duo.
Question of the Month
Have you set yourself any goals for 2018?
Not really. I have my usual Goodreads Challenge goals, but nothing apart from that. Occasionally I like to think that one day I’d be the kind of person who set goals, but today is not that day, this year is not that year. Ah well. Perhaps next year…?
Leave your answer to the question in the comments, and I’ll share one of the answers next month with a link to one of your social media platforms! Let me know what you think.
