September is over – October is here!
And October is one of my favourite months! This year i’m super excited that I’ll actually be in the right hemisphere for the ‘favourite month’ statement to actually come into affect. I love autumn, and Halloween, but here in New Zealand it’s spring, so it’s not Halloween and autumn at the same time. Which is super sad. But in just 20 days I’m headed over to North America for a few weeks. Bring on fall!
‘But, aren’t you in, like, Chile, right now?’ you ask. Yes, dear friends. I am. But I get back next Thursday, life as per usual for 2 weeks, and then I’m off again! This time I’m heading away to Canada and America, and I’m really looking forward to it!
September on the blog was a mix of book related posts, a little bit of travel, and some fabulous guests posts! I was lucky enough to have 3 blogging friends who were here for a time. I hope you guys read their posts; they were excellent. I’ll link them up below for you, as well as the top post of the month, a song, and a few other bits and pieces.
I’ve been doing lots of online research about my upcoming trip to Chile. A lot of things I already knew, as I’ve grown up with stories from my family of their years spent in the South American country, but it’s always good to read up on places before you set off. People seemed to really enjoy The Ultimate List of Tips for Travelling to Tokyo a few years back, so instead of just keeping everything to myself (or sharing a link or two on Facebook or Twitter), I thought I’d make the ultimate list of tips for travelling to Santiago. Song of the Month
This month Shania Twain’s new album came out and while I haven’t managed to listen to the whole thing yet, this one has been in my head for a little while now. I’m so excited that she has a new album! It’s been so long, Shania. Too long. Welcome back.
Question of the month
Which country would you love to visit?
I know I’m overseas at the moment, but not too long ago some friends are I were talking about going on holiday together. Who knows if it’ll come to anything, but the idea was planted and I got me thinking: where do I really want to go? Of course I want to go everywhere, but in close-ish proximity to New Zealand…where do I want to go? I know I want to go to Melbourne, Australia, but for a country … one of the islands would be amazing. Samoa or Fiji, or Tonga. That would be awesome. And very doable from NZ.
Leave your answer to the question in the comments, and I’ll share one of the answers next month with a link to one of your social media platforms! Let me know what you think.
