If you were anything like me, then stickers were one the ‘in’ things in primary school. Everyone had a sticker book, and we would spend our breaks swapping stickers, checking out new ones, smelling the scratch-n-sniffs, touching the fuzzy ones. It was a huge trend, and you know what? It’s a trend that I’m kind bummed when out the window after a while.
I still have my sticker book someone, stuck together with tape because I used it so much, and all the stickers in it bring back so many memories. It’s funny how that happens, isn’t it?
While I’m no longer an 8 year, giving my friend a castle sticker for a unicorn sticker (I got the better end of that deal), I still love stickers and actually use them a lot for things like cards and the occasional scrap-booking endeavours.
A little while ago I was approached by Sticker Swaps, asking if I’d like to review their subscription box. Obviously I said yes, because, well stickers.
They sent me the December 2016 envelope, and here’s what was in it:
As the FAQs on their site say, “Each month we hand select a MINIMUM of 5 high quality featured stickers – as well as a stack of random “lucky dip” stickers from our HUGE collection!” It’s really is a random selection of stickers, no obvious theme or idea. The ones that are in the official-looking pocket within the envelope are all a similar style, though, so they’re automatically more attractive. I really like the style, and the colours.
I do really like the Christmas troll, too, and everyone needs a cat sticker in their life.
Like most subscription boxes, there are levels of cost. For the StickerSwaps box, you can subscribed to a Month to Month payment at US $9.99, a 3 Month Prepay at US $27.99 or a 6 Month Prepay at US $53.99. You can see more on their pricing page.
Shipping is free worldwide, which is fantastic.
This is a neat subscription box, especially if you love stickers, or have family members or kids that love stickers. It’s a pretty random collection of stickers, which is kinda cool.
If feel like the price is a little high for what it is. $10 USD currently is just under $14 NZD, and while the stickers are very cool, I don’t think I will personally be signing up for a monthly plan. However! If you’re England (where the StickerSwap team are based) then it’s just under £8 for the box.
If you know a sticker fanatic, then this is a fun box and would be a great present.
