Attention: NaNoWriMo shut down in 2025. Char over at The Plottery has a succinct blog post about the closure and what happened. I encourage you to read it. You can still, of course, do your own writing challenge like NaNo once was, and these quotes will be helpful and motivating no matter what writing project you’re working on.

Last year I shared with you 10 Quotes to Encourage you through NaNoWriMo. With National Novel Writing Month halfway through, I thought it would be prime to do a little more encouraging.

NaNoWriMo is no mean feat. It’s a tough commitment, especially if this is your first time, or if you’re not writing a lot to begin with. But let me just tell you – it’s definitely possible. While last year I managed to be away for every single weekend in November, leaving me very little time to actually write, I still got about 18,000 words done. It was the 50,000, which I was definitely disappointed at, but I reminded myself that that was 18,000 words. 18 thousand. That’s a lot of words.

This year, as I’ve mentioned, I’m still continuing on with my story that I’ve been working on for the past 3 years. Yikes. But I’m determined to actually finish it this year if it all goes to plan. But I need this encouragement just as much as you might be, so I hope that these quotes give you that little extra push to pump out your 1,667 words today.
