Well I haven’t shared a book haul in a while! Which is sad, but also good. It means I haven’t been buying lots of books. But I thought I’d do a bit of a round up of the books I have bought (or been given) in the last month or so. As we inch closer to November, I’m reminded that the ASB Booksale is creeping up on us, and last year I bought about 40 books, which resulted in about 5 book hauls on the blog. Those were good times. Hopefully I’ll find some more good ones this year, but until then…here’s what’s been happening!

Unearthly, by Cynthia Hand

Another one that’s been on my TBR list for a little while now. I grabbed this one up at an opshop for a few dollars too.

Everlight, by Claudia Gray

This is one of those series which I haven’t read, but have managed to pick up 4 of the books in various sales and book fairs. I haven’t read any of them, I don’t even know if I’ll like them. But because they were all no more than about $2 each, it’s not a big deal. Finally have the first one though, so I must give it a go.

The Memory Book, by Lara Avery

I received this book from the lovely people at Hachette Publishing NZ. I really really enjoyed this book. While it was mostly your standard YA story line, there was something special about this one. You can read my review of it here on Blogger’s Bookshelf.

Gone, by Michael Grant

You may recall that I got the 4th book in this series, Plague, in 2014 in another book haul. I haven’t actually read any of the series, but when you can pick up the books for a couple of dollars, then why not? I’ve heard good things about this series, but just haven’t got around to reading it. Maybe now that I have book 1, I will actually pick it up.

I Am Pilgrim, by Terry Hayes

Scored this one from an opshop (charity store/thrift store/second hand shop) for about $2. It’s been on my radar for a while, and while I don’t think it’s usually a genre that I would immediately pick up, I’ve only heard amazing things about it, so I’m looking forward to reading it at some point.

Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, by T.S. Eliot

Ever since I was young, I have loved the musical cats. The songs from that show come straight from T.S. Eliot’s cat poems. This was in a sale, and I had to grab it. When I was reading through the poems, all I could hear (and see) were the songs and the cats on stage. Love it!
