We had a blast at the Harbourview Sculpture Trail

Back in 2012, the Harbourview Sculpture Trail began small, but since then it has grown into a fantastic, now well-loved Auckland attraction. Every 2 years the sculpture trail pops up, and this year it is happening on Te Atatatu Peninsula.

A bunch of friends and I headed along with a MeetUp group (thanks Jonty, for organising it!), and spent the morning wandering around the sculpture paths. We were lucky enough to be the first tour group on the first day that it opened, so Sally Lush, the curator of the park, took us around for about an hour before letting us loose to continue wandering.

There are some amazing sculptures out there, and all are somehow influenced by nature and the environment in which they are in: the sensitive salt marsh of the peninsula.

The trail is open until the 28th of March, daily from 10am – 6pm so make sure you head along. It’s well worth it.
