This week’s blog prompt in the Blog Greatness weekly prompt series is Cake! We all love cake, right? Right. Well today I thought I’d share with you the only chocolate cake that has ever existed in our household. I can’t remember where it came from or who gave it to us, but it’s so easy to make, and, more importantly, delicious to eat.
Crazy Cake (also don’t know why it’s called this)
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tspn salt
1/2 tspn baking soda
1 1/2 tspn baking powder
half a cup of oil
half a cup of milk
half a cup of boiling water
a dash of vanilla essence
Mix together dry ingredients. Add the egg, oil, milk and vanilla. Finally add the boiling water. Mix mix mix!
Pour into a cake tin (this recipe fits perfectly in a 18-20cm cake tin, with a hole in it), pop it in the oven for approx. 40min or until you can put a skewer through it and it doesn’t come out gooey, on 180°C fan bake.
You can either ice it with chocolate icing (or vanilla) or sprinkle icing sugar over the top.
So yummy, so simple, and so quick to make! Let me know if you try out this recipe!
