When Oh, a loveable misfit from another planet, lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people, he forms an unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl named Tip who is on a quest of her own.
Through a series of comic adventures with Tip, Oh comes to understand that being different and making mistakes is all part of being human. And while he changes her planet and she changes his world, they discover the true meaning of the word HOME.
Naw! Doesn’t it sound adorable!? And guys, it really really was. My friend and I went to see it at the end of March, and yes, we were literally the only adults in there who were attached to at least 4 children, but did we care? Not at all.
Home is a hilarious story of Oh the Boov who, like the description says, meets a human girl called Tip when he’s on the run from his own people, having sent out an invitation for the entire universe to come to his house warming party. Why is that such a bad thing? The ‘whole universe’ includes the Boovs’ enemy, the Gorg, who have been chasing the Boov across the stars, and the Boov have only just resettled on their latest planet: Earth. The Boov are on the run from the Gorg, and Oh is on the run from the Boov, and Tip just wants to find her mother who was taken away and put in a new place with the rest of the world’s population.
As Oh, Tip and her cat, Pig, travel across the globe in a flying car, they find themselves in hilarious situations and try to sort out the mess they’re all in, there are some great lines, some great songs, and a lot of colour changes. If you’re into your animation, or you have kids that you can take along, check out Home. It’s got a great voice-cast too, including Jim Parsons (as Oh), Rihanna (as Tip), Steve Martin, and Jennifer Lopez. It’s a lot of fun, and definitely one I’ll watch again. Here’s the trailer, in case you haven’t seen one:
The trailer is a little bit deceptive, as it shows some parts that aren’t actually in the movie, and then they’ve change the dancing music in the trailer…but anyway! It’s great. Go and see it.
